The Central Ohio Irish Club and Millennium Academy of Irish Dance and Music are pleased to host the 4th Annual Buckeye State Feis which will be held on Saturday, April 21st. Feisworx is the official registrar and registration will open on 2/1/12, time will not be announced. Only on-line payments will be accepted.
Check-in Saturday beginning at 7:30 am. Feis begins promptly at 8:30 am with figures, First Feis, Beginner 1 and Beginner 2. We will run two champ stages, and OC and PC dancers will compete youngest to oldest. Soda Bread entries must be submitted by 10:00 am. Music competition begins at 10:00 am and ends at 2:00 pm. Registration limits: 600 First Feis through Prizewinner, 250 PC/OC. Registration closes once cap is reached or March 23, 2012, whichever comes first.
Dancers, make your day extra special by competing in our crowd pleasing lunch time Treble Reel Special. Here's your chance to come up with your own costume, steps and even dance with a friend or two, just for fun! Dancers may dance as soloists, in pairs or threes, in costume or not, with the option of using props. Dancers may create original choreography for one step right and left (16 bars total).
Calling all musicians under 15! Here's your chance to compete in the prestigious 2nd Annual U15 NAFC Music Scholarship Competition being held exclusively this year only at the 2012 Buckeye State Feis. This competition will be held at lunch time following the Treble Reel Special. Competitor must be prepared to play two tunes (Slip Jig, Reel, Hornpipe, Jig) of the adjudicator's choice with an 8 bar introduction). See Feis syllabus for more details! This special competition is in addition to our regular music competitions.
